1. Prepare your make-up. What you need:
- Liquid Foundation
-Compact Powder
-Blusher (Cherry & Brown)
-Liquid Eyeliner
-Black Mascara
-Lip Palette
-Crimson Red Lipstick
Step 1: Apply small amounts of liquid foundation on your clean and moisturized face. Ensure that your foundation has the same shade as your face. Using a sponge, spread the foundation evenly on your face. Make sure to spread around the eyes and neck (You want to cover up those dark circles and even out your face to your neck)
Step 2: Lightly dab your compact powder on your face. DO NOT spread the powder because your foundation will be uneven.
Step 3: Using a blusher of 2 tones darker than your skin tone, blush the underside of your cheeks and around your nose. This will create a narrower contour of your nose and enhances your cheeks.
Step 4: Apply a cherry-coloured blusher on your cheeks. Make sure to start from the peak of your cheek and towards you the top of your ear. [I usually wait till the end to blush my cheeks. If you can see on the photo on the rightmost above, you'd realize that my model has been all made up]
Step 5: Using an eyebrow pencil, lightly shape the curves of your eyebrows. Ensure that you make a sharp fall towards the end of your eyebrow. You may tweeze the stray brows to make the eyebrow look more defined.
Step 6: Apply the base (white/light cream) on your eyelid. Make sure that you spread them evenly. Then, using a darker eyeshadow (dark brown, blue or black) at the tip of the eyeshadow brush, color your eyelid in the shape of a rainbow. You can use the circumference of your eyeball as a guide.
Step 7: Apply a thin layer of black liquid eyeliner on your eyes. Make a tail at the end of your eye of about half a centimeter. This will give a really dramatic vintage flair.
Step 8: Apply the same eyeliner at the bottom of your eye. Slowly lighten the pressure as you go and stop halfway.
Step 9: Apply mascara on your eyelashes evenly. Don't forget the lashes at the bottom of your eye. You can use an eyelash curler to curl up your lashes. What I used was a vibrating mascara from Lancome which automatically curls up the lashes. A bit pricier than normal mascara but it's worth it!
Step 10: Using a red lipliner, line the shape of your lips. Make a defined "M" for your upper lip. After which, use a crimson red lipstick to end. You may use lipgloss to give some shine to your lips.
And there you go! Below is the BEFORE and AFTER shots.
Hope it helps! Comment if some of my steps don't make sense or you have any enquiries. =)
I very much enjoyed doing it! More to come.
Love,
Shelly
